REVIEWS Climbing Everest is no small feat, even with the aid of modern technology, and the author illustrates that perfectly in this volume. His discriptions of climbing, hypothermia, friendship and danger are as accurate as they are entertaining and leave the reader wondering if the author is a climber, or even climbed Everest! With a very well devoloped plot and even more devoloped charecters, this is an exellent bundle of suspense that is certain to spark an intense interest in Everest no matter who the reader is. One thing that really struck me about this book is that, although the plot is very exiting and suspenseful, Korman still dosn't abandon the charecters and their devolopment for the sake of the plot, if you know what I mean. The charecters keep on devolping to the very end and overcome obstacles (especially the reluctant climber called Perry) even larger than Everest. And, the author offers glimpses into the charecters personal lives, (Sammi's electronic break-up with her boyfriend over e-mail comes readily to mind) something quite rare when it comes to modern, edge-of-you-seat children's action thrillers. In short, a great book with the perfect ingredients for a final clmiax, with a touch of spice cleverly added by a very talented author.
This is the best book I have read in a very long time. I couldn't put down these books if I tried. The adventurous tale of the 4 youngest Everst climbers ever to attempt the peak is filled with truimph, tragety, and humor. The author does a great job of drawing you into the adventure of the story.Meet Dominic Alexis, 13 and small but a tough climber, Tilt Crowly, a heavy 14 year old, ... talking kid, Perry Noonan, a terrified 15 year old redhead, and Sammi Moon, a slightly crazy 15 year old girl. Add that together with Cap Cicero, the legendary climber who will lead this expedion, and throw the world's highest mountain into it all, then you have an absoulty fantastic story!I can't tell you enough how adventurous this story is. I mean, each kid almost dies about four times each! I read and reread this story over and over, and after it's done you're disappointed that it had to end.memorable quotes.the wind pounced on them at 25,000 feet.the youngest expidition squad in the world.were not goig to let a little breeze get in our way.if the blows this bad here its bound to be murderous higher up.why i chose what i choseall the reviews were chose because miss griffith sent them to me. and they explain what other people thought of the book.the first youtube video i chose because its about the book ad these guys make it funny cuz there not the smartest people in the world..i chose the second video because the books about mt everest and......guess what so is the videoquote one-it shows how tese the book was. it was really intense!!!well not really itense, but pretty intense.quote two-its pretty much what the book is about ad it shows that just cuz your four foot tall ad japanese dont mea you cat climb a mountainqupote three-it shows how dedicated these kids were that climbed the mounainqoute four- shows tthat they were worried....
